In 2009, the Mother's Right Foundation sent to the RF President, D.A. Medvedev, a proposal that the Decree ‘Regulations on Repairing Individual Houses of Members of Servicemen's Families that Lost Breadwinners,' No. 313 of May 27, 2006, be applied to parents of dead servicemen.

We sent to the RF State Duma the draft law with the amendments to the Federal Law ‘On Status of Servicemen', Article 2, p. 5, stipulating that parents of servicemen be considered as members of their families. The Foundation received an official letter informing us that our proposal had been considered and supported.

In January 2009, the Mother's Right Foundation sent the draft law ‘On Status of Servicemen' according to which parents of dead servicemen should be considered as members of servicemen's families to the RF Ministry of Defense, the RF Ministry of Finance, the RF Ministry of Regional Development, and the RF Ministry of Health and Social Development.

During the reporting period, the Mother's Right Foundation solved an important problem: in spring 2009, the contract on the rent of the office (4 Luchnikov Lane) was prolonged thanks to our efforts and the assistance of our applicants.

In March 2009, we sent our address to the RF State Duma. We demanded to make amendments to Art. 17 of the federal law "On Defense of Competition",  No. 135, 26/07/2006, according to which public organizations (if they are honest tenants) had the chance to conclude a new contract after the expiration date of a current contract without auction. On July 3, 2009, the State Duma passed the federal law ‘Amendments to Art. 171 and 53 of the FL "On Defense of Competition"'. It was approved by the Federation Council of the RF on July 7, 2009, and signed by the RF President on July 17, 2009. As a result, all non-profit organizations escaped the influence of the FL "On Competition".
