WORK WITH VOLUNTEERS AND PROBATIONERS

Volunteers are fine people. They come to the Foundation in their free time and help us for free. Some of them have been helping us for years. We are really short-handed without our volunteers: a significant volume of our work (delivery of our newspapers, letters and parcels, calls to our clients, updating of our databases) is accomplished thanks to their assistance. Some volunteers give us professional assistance: translators translate our documents; psychologists give consultations to parents of dead soldiers. There's no end to our work, because every year thousands of servicemen die in the Army, and their parents apply to the Foundation. That's why we are always in search of volunteers. In 2009, the Foundation continued using an innovation method of finding volunteers. We created volunteer associations and groups (Good Deed) in the online social networks (Facebook, Moi Mir@Mail.Ru, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki.ru, etc.). We started using our electronic information delivery [volunteers-mright].

We are grateful to those (111 persons) who gave their unselfish assistance in 2009:

On December 5, the International Volunteer Day, the Mother's Right Foundation volunteers brainstormed the ways out of the tough situation caused by the lack of funding. The brainstorm was led by Vladimir Chernousov, business trainer.

The Foundation also thanks the parents of dead servicemen - Galina Alexandrovna and Vladimir Vasilievich Krutykh; Sofia Tagirovna and Ryauf Valiyevich Shakirof; Tamara Grigorievna and Vasily Grigorievich Zhuravlev; Alik Dautovich Mratov; Ludmila Dmitrievna Strugova - for their invaluable assistance during our lawyers' business trips.

The Foundation thanks Sergei Nikolayevich Soloviev for repairing the furniture of the Mother's Right Foundation in October 2009.

The Foundation invites students of Law colleges and other Higher Institutions of Moscow to have a probation period and receive a unique chance to work in the human rights area.

The following students had a probation period in 2009:

  • - Irina Sergeyevna Goryunova, second-year student of the St. Petersburg State University of Service and Economics (June 22-July 24, 2009);
  • - Edith Mosnier (within the frame of the Magister Program "Protection of Human Dignity and Safety", the Paul Cezanne University, Marceille, September-October 2009).
